Emerging WebBusinesses and Facebook
A Manual for Business Owners
11.   Twelve simple, common, ordinary, everyday things that businesses need to do that someone will tell you can’t be done on FB, or if you do find someone who says they can, they appear to be prohibitively expensive upfront.

Successful WebBusinesses need to:

                           1.     Stand out in a crowd by upgrading your Face book “look”.

                      2.     Send rich text emails to your FB Fans outside of Facebook.

                      3.      Upload rich text .doc files and .pdf files to your Facebook pages

                      4.     Add embedded hot links (urls) to text on Facebook pages

                      5.     Duplicate the look and content of your webpage.

                      6.     Totally separate your personal and business identities.

                      7.     Businesses, especially startups,  need instant mass that generates enthusiasm and converts to long term momentum.  Fan pages are not automatic. Nobody wants to join a page or group with 16 members or no activity for two weeks.  A low number of fans or lack of activity creates a potentially negative first impression.

                      8.     To control and drive your conversation on Facebook.

                      9.        Businesses need large groups of fans, without sacrificing the intimacy or uniqueness of the community.  In order to accomplish this businesses Need related neighborhoods in their community under your Fan Page, i.e. pages within pages,

                    10.        Solid Positive Name recognition and branding that build a unique Facebook image and identity

                    11.      To build a community and let the members do your talking for you when you are not there.  Facebook is a community of communities, not a lecture hall.

                    12.        To Create and maintain a seamless interface between FB, your website, your other online activities and your traditional marketing.
